Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known
— Oscar Wilde

Creating has always been a part of my life. To not create, is to die because life without art is dull, lacking color. With painting, my inspiration is drawn from God’s beauty and one of my most favorite places on this earth-the beach. I am intrigued by the dichotomy of the ocean, how it breathes a rhythmic lull, showering me with such a peaceful calm, yet its waves fiercely roar, crashing down eroding the earth. My other inspiration? Why it’s the unforgettable era I was raised in.

Having grown up as a child of the 80’s, I’m inspired by fond memories of loud, glowing neon, punk fashion, and vibrant, electrifying colors that express my deep desire for joy, happiness, and personal expression. Other than nature and the 80’s decade, I look within. I like to explore polarization-deep contrasts that can exist in the same space.

My creative process begins with prayer, taking me where the Holy Spirit and my inner child want to go. In other areas of my life I am very much a planner, with my art though, I have really learned to enjoy the journey as it unfolds, the play, and the spontaneous edits. Letting go of the outcome has allowed me to push the bounds with my art.
