Bio
Made in the image of her Creator, creativity has always been at the core of who Ryyah Aimee Marie is. An emerging abstract artist, Ryyah’s work embraces the interplay of fluid minimalism and textured depth, honoring the tension of her layered self. Her visual language is born of complexity and reflects the ebb and flow of inner tides-the pull of peaceful calm and surge of fearless authenticity. Using acrylics and inks on paper, she creates intimate self-expressions, exploring themes related to her woven identity, inner terrain, co-existing contrasts, growth, and movement. Her art is a form of therapeutic healing and her work, an emotional imprint of what she holds. To paint is to awaken her authentic self, artistically asserting her voice. Ryyah’s studio is the playground where she comes alive, using emotionally relevant colors, various textures, dots, and unconventional mark making tools. She draws inspiration from God’s beauty, and one of her most cherished places on earth-the Oregon Coast. Having grown up in the ‘80’s, she is also inspired by the bold and unapologetic individuality of the era. Ryyah attended Pacific Northwest College of Art and has previously been privately commissioned to create. Her process is Holy-Spirit led and mostly intuitive, never knowing what the end product will reveal. Although “home” will always be the Pacific Northwest, Ryyah currently creates out of her studio in Idaho.
